RIDGESUITE BOOKMARK MANAGER
Privacy: Bookmark Manager New Tab extension
Effective
The Bookmark Manager New Tab extension opens the Bookmark Manager page you choose whenever you open a new browser tab. It is made by Highway 20 Productions as part of RidgeSuite Bookmark Manager. This page says what the extension reads, stores and sends. In short: nothing leaves your browser except requests to bookmarks.ridgesuite.com.
What it reads
The extension reads only information that Bookmark Manager already shows you:
- The list of pages you can open: each page's name, whether it is yours or shared with a team, the team name, and whether it is archived. It uses this to show the chooser.
What it stores
It stores one thing: the id and name of the page you chose. It is kept in the browser's extension storage (chrome.storage.sync). If you use Chrome sync, Chrome itself may copy that choice to your other signed-in browsers through your Google account. Highway 20 Productions does not receive it from there.
It does not store your password, your sign-in cookie, any token, or the contents of your bookmarks.
What it sends and where
The extension talks to https://bookmarks.ridgesuite.com and to nothing else. It makes one kind of request there: for your page list. Your browser adds your existing Bookmark Manager sign-in to that request. The extension cannot read that sign-in.
When you open a new tab, it sends the tab to the Bookmark Manager page you chose, on the same site.
What it never does
- It does not collect or see the websites you visit, your browsing history, or the contents of other tabs.
- It has no analytics, advertising, tracking or crash reporting.
- It does not sell your data, share it with anyone, or use it for anything other than showing the chooser and opening your chosen page.
- It downloads and runs no code from the internet; all of its code is inside the package you install.
How to remove it and your data
- To forget your chosen page but keep the extension, open the extension's toolbar icon and choose Clear my choice. The saved page id and name are deleted, including the synced copy.
- To remove the extension, open chrome://extensions (or edge://extensions), find Bookmark Manager New Tab and choose Remove. Its saved choice is deleted from that browser. If you installed it on other computers, remove it there too.
- Removing the extension also gives you the browser's own new tab page back. The extension itself cannot restore it.
- Your bookmarks and pages stay in Bookmark Manager. Removing the extension does not delete them.
Changes to this page
If the extension starts reading, storing or sending anything new, this page is updated first and the effective date above changes.
